On a hot summer evening while he was still with us we sat together on the deck watching my toddler scoop sand in his sandbox. A dragonfly landed on the side of the sandbox unafraid of the little boy and his movements. Maybe Daddy knew he would be leaving us. In that moment he said when I am gone I will come back to be with you, when you see a dragonfly it will be me. We see dragonflies all the time now, they show up in everyday life and we have even seen them when it is far too cold for them to be around.
